Volunteers

The Gerry Martin Project focuses on building a network of people, who single-mindedly work towards creating a platform for conservation of wildlife, world over. This requires numerous people to experience the work, trials, successes and efforts that are being made at the very ground level. Pursuing this vision, the Project engages Volunteers, from the world over and of different aspirations, to contribute and grow together with the facilities and efforts.

The works assigned to the volunteers are planned and extensive. This includes research and conservation studies that will have to be completed during the stay, immense skill dependent work that contributes towards the growth and success of the particular project. In return, this will generate more revenue which may increase the work force for the various activities and efforts and enhance the ongoing research work.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteering is open to everyone. The volunteers may be gap-year students, school students, professionals, any individual on vacation or a wildlife enthusiast. If you are interested in contributing, learning or understanding conservation, you are free to register as a volunteer with the Project.

The duration of the volunteer programmes stretches from a few days to several months. We consider a suitable duration as per your convenience and propose a programme that will allow you to achieve and contribute to the maxima.

Why volunteer?
The volunteer programmes strive to achieve significant conservation goals in their own fields of operation. These programmes have been specially designed to maintain, accomplish and continue the work on the wildlife front and to develop a positive impact on the conservation goals. Since the resources are fewer in number, the potential of work is sometimes compromised upon due to lack of funds and equipments. The volunteer programmes aim at negating these situations.

The benefits:
These volunteer programmes are more structured and objective driven than most offered in the market today. They involve a high degree skill and dedicated work schedules, which enable you to further develop your skills.
Since the Project is a direct facilitating company, the charges involved for the participants are lesser.
The facilities and activities generate higher revenue (approximately 40 per cent) than the other operators.
The volunteers are guided through structured projects rather than simple unstructured and self-formulated placements.
Each volunteer contributes functionally to concrete and tangible conservation platforms.
Volunteers get real perspectives of wildlife and gain through new experiences from their time and work in these operations.
